Ahhhh! After weeks of crazy schedules, moving and pricing thousands of books, meeting deadlines, missing deadlines, preparing for a new school year, a week to slow down and rest in the beauty of creation and the fellowship of good friends has been an unmeasured blessing.

Here is one delegation loaded to the gills with chairs, towels, coolers, boogie boards, umbrella as we made the twice daily trek to the beach.

Oh, to be young again!!!

Each day, we followed a different routine, rotating between the beach and the pool, and enjoying the beach at different times of day. Our favorite time was in the early evening between 5:00 and 7:00. The beach was quiet and nearly empty, the tide was out and the white sands were expansive and full of running, giggling children; not to mention sand castles and fabulous waves to frolic in.

We stayed as long as possible, but the sun would set quickly as we gathered up our beach belongings and headed home for late dinners and ice cream.
